First Assembly Cedar Rapids is committed to healthy, happy, long-lasting marriages. Marriage is a gift from God, and part of His original design, see Genesis 2 and Hebrews 13:4. We realize there are many attacks on marriage today, and to that end, we have taken the following steps to protect and enrich marriages in our church:

• Pre-Marital Mentoring: Anyone who wishes to get married in our church must go through pre-marital mentoring. We have a dedicated team of Marriage Mentor Couples who have been especially trained in this area. Very relaxed and often in home settings, time with these mentors before the wedding is invaluable to laying a strong foundation for the future. Please fill out the his & hers DARE mentor request forms (see below) and turn them in to Diana Jackson in the church office. A mentor couple will contact you shortly. Please plan on starting no later than 6 months to 1 year before your wedding date.
  
  
• Post-Marital Mentoring: If you've been married for one year, ten years or 30 years, challenges and storms come to every marriage. Sometimes we need help getting through these, and our Marriage Mentoring Team is ready and willing to help you! Simply fill out the his & hers DARE mentor request forms (see below) and turn them in to Diana Jackson in the church office. A mentor couple will contact you shortly.
  
  
• Life Groups: Our Married Life Ministry invites you to Married Life Live, our Sunday Morning Marriage Life Group. Open to all, this group meets on Sunday Mornings at 9:00 AM in room 200N. Other marriage focused Life Groups are also available. This format provides a safe environment for couples to discuss any victories, struggles and challenges they are facing, and to be encouraged by one another.
  
  
• Marriage Enrichment Weekends: Watch our website for the annual Family Life "Weekend to Remember" Marriage Conference in the fall and held at the Cedar Rapids Marriott.
  
  Also watch our website for our annual Power Life Encounter Weekend in the late winter or early spring. It is an in house, inexpensive Marriage Enrichment weekend that is second to none in quality and content.
